Another Delhi Metro first, National Museum collection installed at Udyog Bhawan station

Delhi Metro achieved another first on Wednesday with its Udyog Bhawan station promoting a unique collection from the National Museum's Art Gateway.

The Udyog Bhawan station will have 11 displays, a Museum Replica Corner and hoardings that will give a glimpse into the precious collections of the National Museum and information about the activities of the museum.

Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Dr. Mahesh Sharma, inaugurated the event today.

In his address, Sharma described it as a novel initiative that will allow Delhi Metro passengers to get a quick glimpse of the National Museum collection. He said that the art works of the museum would be changed regularly to keep viewers informed about India's rich art and cultural heritage.

 

Secretary in the Ministry of Culture Narendra Kumar Sinha, Director General of the National Museum Sanjiv Mittal, Managing Director of the DMRC Dr. Mangu Singh and Director (Operations) of the DMRC Sharat Sharma were present on the occasion.
