The Congress on Sunday, while terming the arrest of Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Subhash Barala's son Vikas for stalking a girl as an unfortunate incident, urged the state government and the police to do the needful.

"This is an unfortunate incident. Now, the law and order should take its own course. The government and the police must act," Congress leader Ashok Tanwar told ANI.

Earlier on Sunday, Haryana BJP state president Subhash Barala's son Vikas was arrested on charges of stalking the daughter of an IAS officer.

A case was registered against Vikas and other youth under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the basis of complaint filed by the girl.

The girl alleged that two youth chased her on their bike.

The Chandigarh Police is investigating the case.
