Standing firm in opposition to the contentious Land Acquisition Bill of the NDA government, senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday said his party will strongly oppose any anti-poor and anti-farmer policy.
"We have a clear stand. We will strongly oppose any anti-poor, farmer policy," Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia told ANI.
Additionally, Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge said the party would strongly raise the issue of land ordinance in Parliament today.
However, Minister of State for Skill Development Rajiv Pratap Rudy dismissed the Congress party's resolve as trying to create some footprints on the ground.
"Congress is trying to create some footprint on the ground. It is a part of their political process, but they are too late in doing that," he said.
The Parliament is set to witness a stormy session with the Centre determined to push through the land acquisition bill and the opposition making all efforts to stall it.
The new land acquisition ordinance will be tabled on the first day of the second half of Budget session.
