Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been named the top trending football topic of 2013, according to reports.
According to Metro.co.uk, the controversial striker scored top marks in Twitter's review of the year, which includes details of how many times he was mentioned on the social networking site.
Suarez leads the way from the hashtag #LFC, meaning plenty were probably talking about his scoring exploits for the Anfield club this season, the report said.
Swansea and Aston Villa come in third and fourth, while Liverpool's dominance of Twitter returns, with the word 'Liverpool' taking fifth place, the report added.
The retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson and the hashtag #ThankYouSirAlex also features, as does #TransferDeadlineDay, showing that deadline day is not just about Sky Sports News anymore, the report further said.
