Operation Shishtachar' aimed at curbing incidents of eve-teasing: Bassi

Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi on Tuesday said they have launched 'Operation Shishtachar' to curb incidents of eve-teasing and added that the culprits would be tried in court of law and given necessary counseling.

"To curb eve-teasing, we have launched 'Operation Shishtachar' in which 1500 women police officers would be deployed on the Delhi roads controlling eve-teasing cases. The culprits would be tried in court of law and will also undergo necessary counseling," said Bassi.

He also appreciated the response of victim in the Tilak Nagar eve teasing case.

"We will give Rs.5000 as reward to Jasleen Kaur for her courage," he said.

 

The Delhi Police had yesterday filed the case in the Tilak Nagar eve-teasing incident on the basis of the victim's statement.
