Pakistan's Punjab Home Ministry has reordered the detention of the alleged mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attacks Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, a day after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) declared his detention orders as void.
According to Dawn News, IHC's Justice Noorul Haq accepted Lakhvi's appeal against his third time detention orders on Friday and ordered the release of the alleged Mumbai attack mastermind.
Lakhvi's lawyer Rizwan Abbas, putting forth the arguments pertaining to the case, said that the statements were all in Hindi.
Lakhvi is accused of planning, financing and executing the Mumbai attacks in 2008.
Lakhvi's detention orders were issued by the Islamabad deputy commissioner under the Maintenance of Public Order on December 18, 2014 immediately after he was granted post-arrest bail by an anti-terrorism court.
