Members of Parliament on Monday condoled the death of former union minister and senior Congress leader from Bihar Devendra Prasad Yadav.
Yadav died at a hospital here last night following heart complications. He was 76.
After the chairs in both houses of parliament read out obituary notices condoling Yadav's death, members stood up and observed two minutes silence in honour of the departed leader.
Yadav was admitted to a city hospital here on June 22 after he suffered some cardiac problems. He is survived by four daughters and two sons.
He was a three-time Member of Parliament from the Munger constituency and served as Minister of State for Education between 1971-77 in Indira Gandhi's cabinet.

He was also a member of the Congress Working Committee, the apex decision making body of the party, during Rajiv Gandhi's tenure.
Yadav was also a member of the All India Congress Committee on Economic Policy and earlier served as the chairman of IFFCO as well as of Central School Organisation.
A post graduate in Science from Bihar University in Ranchi, Yadav had served as a professor and junior scientist before joining politics.
Closely linked with various academic and research organisations, Yadav had written a number of books, including "Grassroot Planning", "Dynamics of Development" and "Uranium and Beyond".
His funeral will be held in his home town of Munger, his eldest son, Shubhendu, was quoted, as saying.
