Political leaders condole passing away of RR Patil

Leaders across the political spectrum on Monday expressed their sorrow over the passing away of former Maharashtra deputy chief minister R R Patil.

The BJP termed the demise of the Nationalist Congress Party leader as a 'great loss' to Maharashtra.

"The news of his passing away is extremely shocking. This is a great loss to the NCP and Maharashtra. May his soul rest in peace," BJP spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao told ANI.

Meanwhile, the official twitter handle of the Congress tweeted its condolences on behalf of the party.

"We offer our condolences on the sad demise of Former Home Minister of Maharashtra and @NCPSpeaks leader Shri R R Patil," it posted.

 

Earlier in the day, Patil, who reportedly suffered from oral cancer and was receiving regular chemotherapy for the same, had breathed his last at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after suffering multiple organ failure.
