Priyanka Gandhi says no one can be compared to Rajiv Gandhi, comment on Modi's statement that she is like a daughter

Reacting to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's statement that he considered Congress President Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi as his daughter, the latter on Thursday said that no one could come in comparison with her father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.

""I am Rajiv Gandhi's daughter. My father was and will be Rajiv Gandhi and he sacrificed his life for the country. In my heart, his comparison can never be done to any other person," said Gandhi.

Priyanka made the statement after it was reported that Modi during an interview to Doordarshan, had said that Priyanka is 'like his daughter'.

 

The interview had sparked controversy after it was reported that Doordarshan edited out the portion where Modi made this statement.
