Russia warns U.S. against 'flawed' Iraq type military action in Syria

Russia has cautioned the United States against taking any unilateral military action in Syria, following the alleged chemical weapon attack on Wednesday that killed hundreds of civilians.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said any immediate military action on Syria would undermine joint U.S.-Russian efforts international peace efforts in the rebel affected country and will have a devastating impact on the security situation in the Middle East, News24 reports.

Russia added that the U.S. should refrain from repeating past mistakes, while referring to the past U.S. military intervention in Iraq.
