The United Arab Emirates has said that it is providing F-16 fighters to Jordan in order to support its fight against the Islamic State (IS).

Jordan vowed to step up military offensive against the terror group after the IS released a grisly video showing a Jordanian pilot being burnt alive in a cage, reported the BBC.

The UAE had stopped taking part in coalition airstrikes targeting the IS after Lieutenant Moaz al-Kasasbeh was taken captive by IS last year.

However, it's not clear if UAE will launch air strikes against the IS from Jordan.

The nation's official news agency termed the move a reaffirmation of "UAE's unwavering and constant solidarity with Jordan.
