US moves to assuage France's outrage over NSA's 'snoop-ops' in country

US Secretary of State John Kerry, who visited France to address the government's grievances against the alleged 'snoop-ops', reportedly assured the French authorities that the NSA is working on striking a balance between people's privacy and nation's security.

The French government is angered over a NSA program that collected more than 70 million French telephone records over a month.

Kerry said that protecting people's security in today's world is a very complicated and challenging task, adding that the alleged programme was designed to protect US citizens, Fox News reports.

The Secretary of State said that France is one of the oldest allies of the US' in the world and assured that America is working towards the programmes to soothe the French government's concerns.
