Auto shares fall
Auto stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index falling 577.31 points or 4.43% at 12447.2 at 13:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 7.75%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 7.74%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 6.37%),Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 5.76%),Cummins India Ltd (down 5.28%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Eicher Motors Ltd (down 4.67%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 4.61%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 4.5%), Bosch Ltd (down 3.92%), and Tata Motors Ltd (down 3.5%).
On the other hand, Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 0.49%), moved up.
At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 817 or 2.63% at 30280.73.
The Nifty 50 index was down 236.9 points or 2.59% at 8899.95.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 266.35 points or 2.49% at 10422.51.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 114.94 points or 3.03% at 3674.83.
On BSE,512 shares were trading in green, 1659 were trading in red and 142 were unchanged.
