Auto shares gain

Auto stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index rising 58.24 points or 0.37% at 15825.58 at 09:45 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Bharat Forge Ltd (up 1.45%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 1.27%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 1.09%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 0.92%),Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 0.87%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Exide Industries Ltd (up 0.78%), Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 0.61%), Eicher Motors Ltd (up 0.54%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 0.5%), and Bosch Ltd (up 0.3%).

On the other hand, Cummins India Ltd (down 0.78%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 0.58%), and Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 0.31%) moved lower.

 

At 09:45 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 180.69 or 0.49% at 36383.19.

The Nifty 50 index was down 53.4 points or 0.49% at 10787.25.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 31.56 points or 0.24% at 12862.67.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 11.25 points or 0.26% at 4265.21.

On BSE,482 shares were trading in green, 772 were trading in red and 61 were unchanged.
