Consumer goods stocks edge higher

Consumer goods stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index increasing 1.43 points or 0.04% at 3338.47 at 09:45 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Ganesh Housing Corporation Ltd (up 5.04%), RSWM Ltd (up 4.97%),Emami Realty Ltd (up 3.06%),Indo Count Industries Ltd (up 2.9%),Ruby Mills Ltd (up 2.85%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Yuken India Ltd (up 2.47%), Bharat Seats Ltd (up 2.38%), Gokaldas Exports Ltd (up 2.38%), Garware Technical Fibres Ltd (up 2.03%), and Z F Steering Gear (India) Ltd (up 1.92%).

 

On the other hand, Precision Camshafts Ltd (down 10%), Ucal Fuel Systems Ltd (down 7.44%), and Setco Automotive Ltd (down 6.16%) turned lower.

At 09:45 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 180.69 or 0.49% at 36383.19.

The Nifty 50 index was down 53.4 points or 0.49% at 10787.25.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 31.56 points or 0.24% at 12862.67.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 11.25 points or 0.26% at 4265.21.

On BSE,482 shares were trading in green, 772 were trading in red and 61 were unchanged.
