Auto stocks edge higher

Auto stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 92.12 points or 0.55% at 16785.09 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (up 4.85%), Eicher Motors Ltd (up 2.17%),Bosch Ltd (up 1.97%),Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 1.57%),Exide Industries Ltd (up 1.45%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Cummins India Ltd (up 1.41%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 0.59%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 0.39%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 0.29%), and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 0.16%).

On the other hand, TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 1.96%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 0.58%), and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 0.28%) turned lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 90.45 or 0.24% at 38214.96.

The Nifty 50 index was down 45.05 points or 0.4% at 11314.85.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 5.41 points or 0.04% at 12953.56.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 11.88 points or 0.27% at 4370.89.

On BSE,671 shares were trading in green, 756 were trading in red and 68 were unchanged.
