Capital Goods shares fall
Capital Goods stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Capital Goods index falling 610.99 points or 3.5% at 16851.12 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Capital Goods index, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (down 4.94%), Bharat Electronics Ltd (down 4.8%),GMR Infrastructure Ltd (down 3.73%),Grindwell Norton Ltd (down 2.74%),HEG Ltd (down 2.72%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Graphite India Ltd (down 2.41%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 2.11%), Bharat Forge Ltd (down 2.07%), Finolex Cables Ltd (down 2%), and Siemens Ltd (down 1.93%).
On the other hand, Schaeffler India Ltd (up 0.64%), SKF India Ltd (up 0.22%), and AIA Engineering Ltd (up 0.14%) moved up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 680.81 or 1.67% at 40042.68.
The Nifty 50 index was down 197.45 points or 1.65% at 11764.65.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 234.04 points or 1.6% at 14433.92.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 84.97 points or 1.69% at 4951.14.
On BSE,672 shares were trading in green, 1477 were trading in red and 114 were unchanged.
