Capital Goods stocks edge lower

Capital Goods stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Capital Goods index decreasing 64.1 points or 0.55% at 11517.58 at 13:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Capital Goods index, Finolex Cables Ltd (down 3.34%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 1.7%),Bharat Electronics Ltd (down 1.48%),Larsen & Toubro Ltd (down 1.2%),Schaeffler India Ltd (down 0.87%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Siemens Ltd (down 0.76%), Havells India Ltd (down 0.32%), SKF India Ltd (down 0.32%), and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (down 0.24%).

On the other hand, Graphite India Ltd (up 4.08%), Bharat Forge Ltd (up 3.84%), and HEG Ltd (up 2.32%) turned up.

 

At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 265.33 or 0.84% at 31980.68.

The Nifty 50 index was up 67.45 points or 0.73% at 9360.95.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 32.86 points or 0.31% at 10786.44.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 28.41 points or 0.75% at 3804.11.

On BSE,1080 shares were trading in green, 1138 were trading in red and 186 were unchanged.
