Consumer goods stocks edge higher

Consumer goods stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index increasing 26.44 points or 0.69% at 3834.3 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Shalimar Paints Ltd (up 12.5%), Vipul Ltd (up 5.17%),MIRC Electronics Ltd (up 4.94%),Emami Realty Ltd (up 4.93%),Alok Industries Ltd (up 4.79%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Unitech Ltd (up 4.55%), Zee Media Corporation Ltd (up 4.17%), Yuken India Ltd (up 3.09%), Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd (up 2.68%), and Endurance Technologies Ltd (up 2.58%).

On the other hand, Nitin Spinners Ltd (down 5.36%), Ganesh Housing Corporation Ltd (down 4.08%), and RSWM Ltd (down 3.85%) turned lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 51.99 or 0.13% at 41438.39.

The Nifty 50 index was up 36.3 points or 0.3% at 12216.65.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 46.64 points or 0.32% at 14818.96.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 21.81 points or 0.43% at 5085.9.

On BSE,925 shares were trading in green, 450 were trading in red and 71 were unchanged.
