Consumer goods stocks rise
Consumer goods stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index increasing 12.02 points or 0.33% at 3688.77 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd (up 8.63%), Rupa & Company Ltd (up 7.33%),Lux Industries Ltd (up 6.16%),Alok Industries Ltd (up 4.95%),Unitech Ltd (up 4.76%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd (up 4.76%), Sintex Industries Ltd (up 4.55%), Borosil Glass Works Ltd (up 4.25%), Prozone Intu Properties Ltd (up 3.25%), and Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances Ltd (up 3.08%).
On the other hand, Shivam Autotech Ltd (down 9.73%), Ashiana Housing Ltd (down 7.44%), and Eros International Media Ltd (down 5%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 26.27 or 0.07% at 40089.79.
The Nifty 50 index was down 36.6 points or 0.31% at 11803.85.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 31.71 points or 0.24% at 13312.98.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 13.75 points or 0.3% at 4610.41.
On BSE,606 shares were trading in green, 869 were trading in red and 68 were unchanged.
