Oil and Gas stocks edge higher
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 36.8 points or 0.25% at 14599.02 at 09:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.98%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.88%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.36%), Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.28%), and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 0.1%), were the top gainers.
On the other hand, Petronet LNG Ltd (down 1.27%), Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 0.8%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 0.23%) turned lower.
At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 276.92 or 0.71% at 38545.65.
The Nifty 50 index was down 89.05 points or 0.77% at 11423.35.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 117.21 points or 0.88% at 13214.72.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 42.5 points or 0.95% at 4441.9.
On BSE,503 shares were trading in green, 1024 were trading in red and 83 were unchanged.
