Energy stocks edge lower

Energy stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Energy index decreasing 31.35 points or 0.63% at 4963.12 at 13:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Oil India Ltd (down 9.06%), Castrol India Ltd (down 3.38%),Alphageo (India) Ltd (down 2.61%),Goa Carbon Ltd (down 2.35%),Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 2.01%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Aegis Logistics Ltd (down 1.96%), Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (down 1.57%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 1.27%), Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd (down 0.87%), and Coal India Ltd (down 0.65%).

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 2.02%), Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (up 1.38%), and Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.77%) turned up.

 

At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 24.83 or 0.06% at 41298.17.

The Nifty 50 index was down 3.05 points or 0.03% at 12122.85.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 93.51 points or 0.64% at 14765.09.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 34.68 points or 0.68% at 5100.35.

On BSE,1299 shares were trading in green, 1065 were trading in red and 143 were unchanged.
