Energy shares slide

Energy stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Energy index falling 39.97 points or 0.79% at 5007.69 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Goa Carbon Ltd (down 2.46%), Aegis Logistics Ltd (down 1.88%),Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 1.79%),Aban Offshore Ltd (down 1.57%),Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 1.47%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Petronet LNG Ltd (down 1.4%), Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 1.23%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 1.21%), Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (down 1.17%), and Gujarat Gas Ltd (down 1.16%).

On the other hand, Alphageo (India) Ltd (up 1.75%), Oil India Ltd (up 0.58%), and Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd (up 0.43%) moved up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 207.35 or 0.53% at 39171.19.

The Nifty 50 index was up 50.9 points or 0.44% at 11639.25.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 61.59 points or 0.47% at 13251.96.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 19.49 points or 0.43% at 4527.55.

On BSE,1176 shares were trading in green, 1154 were trading in red and 181 were unchanged.
