Energy stocks move higher

Energy stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Energy index increasing 25.81 points or 0.49% at 5254.54 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Goa Carbon Ltd (up 4.56%), Aegis Logistics Ltd (up 1.67%),Deep Industries Ltd (up 1.63%),Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (up 1.39%),Alphageo (India) Ltd (up 1.3%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Adani Gas Ltd (up 1.21%), Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.84%), Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (up 0.83%), Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.78%), and Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.59%).

On the other hand, Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (down 1.13%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 1.01%), and Coal India Ltd (down 0.59%) turned lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 38.26 or 0.09% at 40817.85.

The Nifty 50 index was up 20.4 points or 0.17% at 12038.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 27.62 points or 0.21% at 13482.85.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 2.98 points or 0.06% at 4718.49.

On BSE,840 shares were trading in green, 529 were trading in red and 55 were unchanged.
