Financials shares fall

Financials stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Finance index falling 136.99 points or 3.01% at 4410.56 at 13:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Nippon Life India Asset Management Ltd (down 14.97%), Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd (down 10.01%),Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd (down 9.66%),UCO Bank (down 9.18%),LIC Housing Finance Ltd (down 8.4%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Bajaj Finance Ltd (down 7.92%), ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd (down 7.49%), Equitas Holdings Ltd (down 7.4%), Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd (down 6.98%), and HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd (down 6.11%).

 

On the other hand, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd (up 6.7%), Dolat Investments Ltd (up 6.41%), and Alankit Ltd (up 4.97%) moved up.

At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 270.08 or 0.85% at 31593.

The Nifty 50 index was down 58.65 points or 0.63% at 9255.25.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 94.48 points or 0.88% at 10690.56.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 40.67 points or 1.08% at 3735.45.

On BSE,778 shares were trading in green, 1397 were trading in red and 149 were unchanged.
