Financials shares gain

Financials stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Finance index rising 44.28 points or 0.68% at 6542.03 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Central Bank of India (up 13.53%), United Bank of India (up 11.91%),Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd (up 10.63%),SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd (up 10%),Syndicate Bank (up 7.07%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Alankit Ltd (up 6.49%), Andhra Bank (up 5.75%), Corporation Bank (up 5.13%), Reliance Capital Ltd (up 4.89%), and UCO Bank (up 4.88%).

On the other hand, BF Investment Ltd (down 2.3%), Equitas Holdings Ltd (down 2.11%), and Centrum Capital Ltd (down 1.75%) moved lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 208.09 or 0.52% at 40259.96.

The Nifty 50 index was up 66.15 points or 0.56% at 11910.25.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 102.33 points or 0.76% at 13533.78.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 34.7 points or 0.75% at 4654.57.

On BSE,1045 shares were trading in green, 420 were trading in red and 55 were unchanged.
