Financials shares gain
Financials stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Finance index rising 153.9 points or 3.54% at 4500.77 at 09:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (up 6.89%), ICICI Bank Ltd (up 5.15%),UCO Bank (up 5.12%),Bandhan Bank Ltd (up 5.02%),CreditAccess Grameen Ltd (up 4.99%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were AU Small Finance Bank Ltd (up 4.99%), Centrum Capital Ltd (up 4.93%), Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd (up 4.9%), Satin Creditcare Network Ltd (up 4.62%), and HDFC Bank Ltd (up 4.18%).
On the other hand, Reliance Capital Ltd (down 4.95%), Reliance Home Finance Ltd (down 4.76%), and General Insurance Corporation of India (down 1.32%) moved lower.
At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 621.45 or 1.98% at 31992.57.
The Nifty 50 index was up 164.6 points or 1.79% at 9361.15.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 141.35 points or 1.34% at 10707.5.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 46.55 points or 1.24% at 3796.25.
On BSE,1227 shares were trading in green, 315 were trading in red and 75 were unchanged.
