Quick Wrap: Nifty Private Bank Index gains 7.37%, NIFTY jumps 3.05%

Nifty Private Bank index closed up 7.37% at 11212.1 today. The index has gained 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Axis Bank Ltd added 13.31%, ICICI Bank Ltd jumped 9.81% and IDFC First Bank Ltd rose 9.32%. The Nifty Private Bank index has fallen 35.00% over last one year compared to the 21.15% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index gained 6.61% and Nifty Financial Services index increased 5.46% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 3.05% to close at 9266.75 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 3.22% to close at 31588.72 today.
