Financials shares gain

Financials stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Finance index rising 51.1 points or 1.23% at 4217.43 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd (up 4.95%), Reliance Capital Ltd (up 4.87%),Satin Creditcare Network Ltd (up 4.83%),Alankit Ltd (up 4.56%),Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd (up 3.59%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd (up 3.51%), Muthoot Finance Ltd (up 3.18%), Magma Fincorp Ltd (up 2.87%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (up 2.78%), and AU Small Finance Bank Ltd (up 2.7%).

 

On the other hand, Reliance Home Finance Ltd (down 4.88%), Lakshmi Vilas Bank Ltd (down 3.52%), and IFCI Ltd (down 2.47%) moved lower.

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 159.55 or 0.52% at 30978.16.

The Nifty 50 index was up 46.25 points or 0.51% at 9112.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 101.28 points or 0.97% at 10573.65.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 43.04 points or 1.16% at 3758.17.

On BSE,962 shares were trading in green, 383 were trading in red and 66 were unchanged.
