Financials stocks edge ease
Financials stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Finance index decreasing 232.24 points or 5.02% at 4393.92 at 13:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd (down 14.41%), IndusInd Bank Ltd (down 11.99%),Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (down 10.73%),Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (down 10.31%),Bandhan Bank Ltd (down 10.02%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were JM Financial Ltd (down 8.98%), Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd (down 8.8%), Axis Bank Ltd (down 8.76%), Equitas Holdings Ltd (down 8.59%), and RBL Bank Ltd (down 8.2%).
On the other hand, UCO Bank (up 11.87%), CreditAccess Grameen Ltd (up 5%), and Lakshmi Vilas Bank Ltd (up 4.94%) turned up.
At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 1151.32 or 3.64% at 30496.68.
The Nifty 50 index was down 314.45 points or 3.4% at 8947.4.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 329.74 points or 3.03% at 10557.17.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 110.86 points or 2.91% at 3701.05.
On BSE,626 shares were trading in green, 1656 were trading in red and 149 were unchanged.
