Financials stocks edge lower
Financials stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Finance index decreasing 130.67 points or 2.1% at 6080.89 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (down 20%), Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (down 9.98%),Indiabulls Ventures Ltd (down 8.34%),Magma Fincorp Ltd (down 7.52%),Yes Bank Ltd (down 6.02%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Max Ventures and Industries Ltd (down 5.71%), RBL Bank Ltd (down 5.67%), Reliance Capital Ltd (down 5.23%), Lakshmi Vilas Bank Ltd (down 5%), and Union Bank of India (down 4.01%).
On the other hand, Bandhan Bank Ltd (up 5.25%), Religare Enterprises Ltd (up 4.94%), and GRUH Finance Ltd (up 4.23%) turned up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 343.47 or 0.9% at 37834.48.
The Nifty 50 index was down 89.25 points or 0.79% at 11224.05.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 56.68 points or 0.44% at 12739.79.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 37.87 points or 0.87% at 4311.51.
On BSE,822 shares were trading in green, 1405 were trading in red and 156 were unchanged.
