Net outflow of Rs 27.63 crore on 4 May 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 27.63 crore on 4 May 2016, compared with net outflow of Rs 747.73 crore on 3 May 2016. The net outflow of Rs 27.63 crore from the secondary equity markets on 4 May 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3719.27 crore and gross sales of Rs 3746.90 crore. On that day, the Sensex fell 127.97 points or 0.51% to settle at 25,101.73, its lowest closing level since 11 April 2016.
There was an outflow of Rs 3.20 crore from 'primary markets & others' category on 4 May 2016 which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.09 crore and gross sales of Rs 3.29 crore.
FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 460.15 crore into the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 4 May 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 8347.69 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 12356.86 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 4 May 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 14.52 crore in this month so far (till 4 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 68.04 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category last month. The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 108.33 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 4 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2015.
