Indian Wood Products Company starts production of Premium Katha at J&K plant

Indian Wood Products Company announced that on receipt of all required permission from regulatory authorities, the trail of the Commercial Production of Premium Katha at its Jammu & Kashmir Plant has commence from 11 July 2019.

The availability of better quality of khair timber in J&K will enable the company to produce higher quality of Katha and increase market share in the Premium Katha segment. Surplus Katha Liquor produced in J&K will be utilized in production at Baroda & Kundli units to improve the quality of Katha and also result in higher utilization of production capacity.

As per the Licence to Establish and Operate issued by the Conservator of Forest, East Circle, Jammu, the company was required to commence the operation of plant within one year. The company has fulfilled the license commitment within the deadline. The license is valid up to 06 September 2020.
