Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index records a surge of 3.17%, NIFTY climbs 1.43%

Nifty IT index ended up 3.17% at 27322.95 today. The index has added 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd jumped 6.07%, Mindtree Ltd gained 4.86% and Infosys Ltd added 4.16%. The Nifty IT index has decreased 7.00% over last one year compared to the 2.23% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index increased 2.77% and Nifty Metal index added 2.49% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 1.43% to close at 16278.5 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 1.41% to close at 54521.15 today.
