Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index falls 1.84%, NIFTY Crashes 1.03%

Nifty Media index closed down 1.84% at 1835.7 today. The index has gained 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd dropped 3.89%, TV18 Broadcast Ltd shed 3.29% and Dish TV India Ltd fell 2.67%. The Nifty Media index has fallen 23.00% over last one year compared to the 12.08% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index has dropped 1.62% and Nifty Bank index has dropped 1.61% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 1.03% to close at 12224.55 while the SENSEX has slid 0.99% to close at 41528.91 today.
