Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index falls 2.12%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended down 2.12% at 2512.85 today. The index has gained 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of Baroda shed 3.23%, Union Bank of India dropped 2.92% and Central Bank of India slipped 2.65%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has fallen 17.00% over last one year compared to the 12.04% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index gained 1.14% and Nifty Metal index gained 0.82% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.47% to close at 12221.65 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.50% to close at 41558.57 today.
