Telecom shares fall
Telecom stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Telecom index falling 7.44 points or 0.66% at 1115.05 at 13:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, ITI Ltd (up 4.83%), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 4.13%), Optiemus Infracom Ltd (up 2.2%), Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 1.5%), HFCL Ltd (up 1.14%), and Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 0.65%), were the top losers.
On the other hand, Tejas Networks Ltd (up 5%), GTL Infrastructure Ltd (up 4.17%), and Sterlite Technologies Ltd (up 2.5%) moved up.
At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 285.63 or 0.94% at 30665.44.
The Nifty 50 index was up 87.45 points or 0.98% at 9012.75.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 140.18 points or 1.35% at 10506.71.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 39.66 points or 1.08% at 3700.06.
On BSE,1473 shares were trading in green, 722 were trading in red and 150 were unchanged.
