Telecom shares slide

Telecom stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Telecom index falling 7.79 points or 0.71% at 1087.7 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, GTL Infrastructure Ltd (down 2.56%), Bharti Infratel Ltd (down 1.61%), Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 1%), and Bharti Airtel Ltd (down 0.6%), were the top losers.

On the other hand, ITI Ltd (up 13.86%), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 5%), and Optiemus Infracom Ltd (up 4.11%) moved up.

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 129.84 or 0.32% at 40806.47.

The Nifty 50 index was up 31.65 points or 0.26% at 12024.7.

 

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 91.89 points or 0.67% at 13807.07.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 24.49 points or 0.52% at 4759.1.

On BSE,1391 shares were trading in green, 932 were trading in red and 152 were unchanged.
