Aung San Suu Kyi calls on Sonia Gandhi

Myanmar Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi on Monday called on Congress president Sonia Gandhi at her residence here.

Congress leaders described the meeting as a courtesy call.

The Congress party later posted photographs of Sonia Gandhi welcoming Suu Kyi at her residence on its official twitter account.

Suu Kyi is on four-day visit to India from October 16. She was in Goa to attend the Bimstec-Retreat and BRICS-Bimstec Leaders' Outreach Summit.
