Lakers star Nash ruled out of season

Steve Nash, a veteran acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2012, is set to sit out the upcoming NBA season because of a back problem.

"As disappointed as we are for ourselves and our fans, we're even more disappointed for Steve," said Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak, reports Xinhua.

The 40-year-old Nash has been advised to retire after the 2014-2015 season.
