UNSC slams deadly terrorist attack in Egypt

The UN Security Council (UNSC) has condemned, in the strongest terms, a deadly terrorist attack on a military checkpoint in the restive northern part of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.
At least 30 soldiers were killed and 28 others wounded in a suicide car bomb attack Friday afternoon, the deadliest single attack against the Egyptian military in decades. Egypt has declared a three-month state of emergency in parts of northern Sinai.
"Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security, and that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of their motivation, wherever and whenever and by whomsoever committed," Xinhua quoted the Security Council as saying in a statement issued by it Friday.
