Dada of the Left

He may be the leader of a group of just four CPI MPs in the Lok Sabha, but Gurudas Dasgupta often gives big brother CPI(M) a hard time. Last week, CPI(M) Politburo member and the leader of the Left parties in Parliament Sitaram Yechury, had to work hard to persuade him to come for a meeting. When Dasgupta finally agreed to attend, Yechury told him, “I know you are always angry with me, but please don’t get annoyed if I come late for the meeting. I have some other work as well.” Dasgupta promised that he wouldn’t get angry but reached long after Yechury.
