Digital divide

A senior Department of Telecommunications executive, who moved into his new role recently, has sent a message to India Inc not to connect with him "digitally". So, no text messages, nor any e-mail updates. He has urged corporate honchos to meet him personally and follow protocol while requesting interviews. He is wary that digital communication will send out the wrong message - that he is "too close to corporate India" for (the government's) comfort.
