The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday warned Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal against his bribe remarked and directed him to avoid making such statements in future.
The Commission found Kejriwal violating the Model Code of Conduct and also, provisions of the Indian Panel Code (IPC).
"The Commision hereby directs you to desist from making these utterances in all forms of election campaign by you. You are warned that the Commission shall be constrained to take stern action against you in the event of any further violation," the poll panel said in its written order following a complaint received from the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Delhi office.
During a rally in Delhi, Kejriwal had asked voters to not refuse taking bribe from other political parties (accusing both BJP and Congress) and asked them to vote for his party i.e. AAP. Kejriwal had made this remark twice at different occasions in the previous week.
