One person was killed and seven others were seriously injured in fire at a crackers manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district today, police said.
The mishap occurred when some workers were making crackers at the unit in Darmapuram village of Akividu mandal in West Godavari district for an order received from a party for a function.
The crackers suddenly exploded causing fire in which one person was killed on the spot and seven others were seriously hurt, police added.

The injured were shifted to Ashram hospital, Eluru, from Bhimavaram government general hospital for better treatment on the directions of Andhra Pradesh Women and Child Welfare Minister P Sujatha.
The deceased was identified as G Aruna (30), police said.
The minister directed the district administration to supervise rescue operations at the site and to provide all assistance to the family of the deceased and the injured persons.
She also directed the district administration to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident.
District Collector and other senior officials visited the accident spot.
