Fourteen persons including two women, were injured in stone pelting when a clash broke out between two groups over a minor issue in Shamli district, police said today.

The incident occurred yesterday at Sunehti village when two persons, Satender and Asif, had a fight at a barber's shop, over who would get his services first, police said.

The clash turned violent with they and their supporter pelting stones at one another, they said.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, they said.

Police said 14 people were injured in the brawl and were admitted to hospital.

Security has been tightened and additional police force has been deployed in the area, they said.

A case has been registered, they said, adding further investigation is on.
