2 walls of church encroaching on govt land demolished

Two compound walls of a church which reportedly encroached on government revenue land in Yercaud and was blocking traffic, have been demolished, a top official said.

Yercaude is about 27 km from here.

Yercaud Tahsildar C Krishnan said the walls were demolished last evening on instrudctions from higher officials. Encroachements by a nearby temple would be removed after a survey, he said.
