3 Haryana men held in UP for trafficking liquor, drugs

Three alleged drug and liquor traffickers from were arrested in Noida's on Friday, police said.

Twenty-five cartons of illicit liquor and 2.75 kg of cannabis was recovered from the trio's possession, held near Kot Nahar village in Dadri, they said.

The accused-- Sanjeet,Ajmer andSudhir -- hail from Sonipat, Haryana, a said.

"The three were held while they were transporting the liquor and the drugs," the said.

They were carrying the liquor cartons and drugs in an SUV, which has been impounded, the said.

"The accused have told police that they used to buy liquor from and sell it in UP... Today they were bound for district adjoining Gautam Buddh Nagar," the official said.

He said a case under the UP Excise Act as well as the Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the trio.

The accused have been remanded in judicial custody, the police said.
