Three labourers were killed and as many injured when a mound of mud caved in on them at a site where houses were being built under 'Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana' in Thaltej area here today, police said.
"Six labourers were buried in a huge mudslide when they were working at the under-construction site of the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana," fire officials said.
The scheme envisages building of tenements for people belonging to low income group.
"Three of them (six persons) were rescued alive while three bodies were retrieved from the site," they added.
The deceased have been identified as Baldev Shivnarayan, Jalian Shivbalan and Harishankar Ramarao.
The condition of the injured persons is stated to be stable, they added.
