Three persons were killed and 40 others injured when a bus fell into a canal near Konark in Odisha's Puri district today.
The bus was travelling to Paradip from Astarang. It lost control and plunged into a canal at Jiunti square, said Additional Superintendent of Police (Puri), Jagannath Pradhan.
The conductor of the bus, the helper and another passenger died on the spot, he said.
The injured persons were admitted to Kakatpur hospital, he added.
Twenty passengers were seriously injured. They were shifted to different hospitals in Bhubaneswar, the police said.
